Make a presentation with AI: check the outline, then get designed slides
Tinkerly makes slide decks from a sentence, your notes or a document. The AI writes an outline first, and you fix it while it’s cheap to change. Then it designs the slides, with pictures where they help. You can edit every slide, present in the browser or download PowerPoint, PDF or pictures.

How do you make a presentation with AI?
Say what the talk is about, who it’s for and how long it runs. The AI writes an outline of the slides, which you can rewrite, reorder or shorten. When the plan looks right, you let it design the deck, and the slides appear a few at a time.
Step 1: Describe the talk
“A 10-minute pitch for our coffee subscription, for investors”, or attach your notes or pick one of your documents to build from.
Step 2: Choose the basics
The size (Widescreen (16:9) and Standard (4:3)), how many slides (3 to 30, or let the AI decide), and whether AI pictures go on none, the key slides or most slides.
Step 3: Check the outline
Each slide’s title and layout are listed. Change the words, move slides, add or delete them before anything is designed.
Step 4: Design it
The AI designs the slides in small batches, so you see the first ones while the rest are made.
Step 5: Change it, then present
Edit by hand or ask the AI for changes, then present from the browser or download it.
Why does it write an outline first?
Because fixing a plan is faster and cheaper than fixing finished slides. The outline shows what every slide will say and how it’s laid out, so a wrong order, a missing point or a slide too many is a quick edit instead of a redesign.
The outline is a plain list you edit like text. It’s saved as you go, so you can leave and come back to it. When AI pictures are on, the outline also shows how many pictures the deck will get and what they cost, before any are made.
Who decides how the slides look?
The AI designs a look for each deck from its topic and audience, instead of dropping your words into a fixed template. The deck’s colours and fonts are set in one place, so changing them restyles every slide at once, and the AI keeps them when it changes slides later.
Backgrounds, cards and decoration are part of the AI’s design: to change them, ask. When a deck is opened, the editor also checks that text stands out from what’s behind it, and sets any text that’s hard to read in a colour that reads well.
Can you change slides by asking?
Yes. Under the slide there’s a box for requests: change the slide in view, every slide, or only the part you selected. Each request is one step you can undo, and it keeps the speaker notes and pictures of whatever it doesn’t change.
- Edit text, shapes and pictures by hand, with undo and redo across hand edits and AI changes alike.
- Write speaker notes for each slide, and see them in presenter view.
- Present from this slide or from the start, full screen in the browser.
Can you make a presentation from a chat?
Yes. Ask for “a 6-slide deck about our new product” in a chat. The chat writes the outline on a card, where you can edit it, then Create presentation designs it with the chat’s model. Open in AI Slides takes the same outline to the full editor instead.
A large deck, or one with many pictures, asks before it starts and says the most it can cost. Only the person who asked can create it, and only once.
What can you download?
A PowerPoint file, a PDF, every slide as a picture in a ZIP, or the slide in view as a PNG. In the PowerPoint file, text, shapes and pictures become PowerPoint’s own objects, text stays editable, and your notes become speaker notes.
| Question | What you get | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| PowerPoint (.pptx) | Editable slides with speaker notes | Presenting in PowerPoint, last-minute edits |
| The slides at their size, from the print dialog | Handouts, email attachments | |
| Pictures (.zip) | A PNG of every slide at twice its size | Social posts, other apps |
| One slide (.png) | The slide in view | A single chart or quote |
What does a presentation cost?
A deck is a few AI requests: the outline, then the slides a batch at a time. Each is billed at the chosen model’s price per message, plus a small fee for the deck that’s charged once while you keep working on it. Each AI picture costs its picture price.
An outline the AI writes that has no slides the editor can read isn’t charged. A failed or empty answer costs nothing either. A chat message costs from 1 to 11 credits today, depending on the model. Editing and presenting by hand is free. Every model’s price is on the pricing page.
What can’t it do yet?
An outline can ask for 3 to 30 slides, in two sizes: Widescreen (16:9) and Standard (4:3). The look is the AI’s own design for each deck, so there’s no gallery of ready-made templates to pick from first. PowerPoint has no shape for some decoration, so that part of a slide comes in as a picture.
If the first design isn’t what you pictured, say what to change (“calmer colours”, “less text on each slide”) rather than starting again.
