Tinkerly vs Claude Pro: price, models and usage limits
Claude Pro is Anthropic’s $20 monthly plan for its own Claude models. Tinkerly has GPT models in one account and charges per message, with credits you buy as you need them and a free start. If you use Claude heavily every day, Claude Pro is usually the simpler pick; for mixed or occasional use, paying per message can cost less.

What does Claude Pro cost, and what does Tinkerly cost?
Claude Pro is $20 a month, billed monthly, for one person. Tinkerly has no fixed fee for chat: each message costs its model’s price in credits, from 1 to 11 credits a message. Credits you buy never expire.
| Question | Claude Pro | Tinkerly |

Prices are for one person, billed monthly, in US dollars. They were checked on 2 November 2026 on each company’s own pages: Claude Pro. Plans and models change, so each company’s site has the latest. Tinkerly’s side of the table is live: it shows what is on today.
Are Claude models available in Tinkerly?
Not today. Anthropic’s Claude models are not switched on in Tinkerly right now; the models that are on come from OpenAI. If Claude is the model you want, Claude Pro is the direct way to get it, and that is the honest answer until this changes.
The pricing page lists every model that is on and what a typical message with it costs. That list updates as models are added or switched off, so it is the place to check before you sign up.
How do usage limits differ?
On Claude Pro you pay a flat fee and Anthropic sets how much you can use within it; heavy use can reach the plan’s limit. In Tinkerly there is no monthly allowance to run out of: your balance is the limit, and each message spends its model’s listed price from it.
The chat box in Tinkerly shows about how many messages your credits still pay for with the model you picked, so you can see where you stand before you send. Unusually large messages, such as very long chats or big files, can cost more than the listed price. A failed or empty answer costs nothing.
When is Claude Pro the better choice?
Claude Pro is the better choice when Claude is the only model you need and you use it heavily, most days. One flat fee is easy to plan around, and Anthropic’s own app has features that only exist there. If that is your pattern, a subscription is likely to be simpler and may cost less.
- You work with Claude for hours every day and want a fixed monthly cost.
- You don’t need models from other companies.
- You depend on features that only exist in Anthropic’s own apps.
- You want Claude itself: it is not on in Tinkerly today.
When is Tinkerly the better choice?
Tinkerly is the better choice when you want a choice of models with a price on each, when your use is uneven from month to month, or when you want to make files as well as chat. Paying per message means a quiet month costs little, and you can try it before you pay anything.
- You use AI in bursts: a lot before a deadline, then little for weeks.
- You want separate tools that make documents, slides, pictures, spreadsheets and diagrams.
- You want to share your work with others through invite links.
- You want 15 free credits every day for quick questions on the models marked Free.
What can you make in Tinkerly besides chat answers?
Documents, slides, pictures, spreadsheets and diagrams. Each has its own tool, and you can also ask for one in a chat, where it appears as a card you keep or discard. What you keep is saved to your account, where you can edit it and come back to it later.
AI work in these tools is paid from the same credits as chat, and editing by hand costs nothing. See the questions and answers for how files and credits work.
